It was a sad day for me when Alligator Alley in Oakland Park, FL shut the doors. I have so many fond memories – playing into the morning hours, rockin’ the stage with Kilmo, Bob, Jeff…all of Kilmo’s warrior staff…Ray, Ed, Alice...I miss Susie with her razor-sharp intuition…knowing exactly what and when to come to the stage with~ whether it be coffee, water… the occasional shot when she sensed my voice was about to go haywire…Kilmo’s killer gumbo and shrimp poboys (on cuban bread, awesome!)…all of the great artists and musicians who over the years stopped in and jumped up on the stage for a sit in…Adam Deitch, Jake Shimabukuro, Jeff Watkins, Bonefish Johnny, Eric Krasno, Boomer Bosarge, Teddy Mulet, Tony Hall, Dave Shelley, Raymond Weber, Albert Castiglia, George Porter Jr., Michael Pickett, Russell Batiste, Chris Seepersaud…and the list goes on…what great times…and they can be had again!
So I hope to see all of my friends at Tu-Can Tango on Feb. 21st. I will be joined by my fearless cohorts, Carl “Kilmo” Pacillo on bass, Bob Taylor on keys and Jeff Renza on drums…and I am pleased to have on the show with her band, former Little Feat vocalist, Shaun Murphy!
“Shaun’s one of my favorite singers and she’s out in full, soulful force on this one! “– Bonnie Raitt
“Brian Stoltz… played in a funky and blistering way…and he had articulate schemes…Brian’s licks were thought out like piano patterns. He could play James Booker piano licks on the guitar.” – Bob Dylan, Chronicles,Vol.1
Please make note that this an early show. Doors @6pm, Showtime: 7pm
