I am honored to be performing at the 1st Annual Maui Jazz And Blues Festival September 23 & 24, 2011. The festival will take place on Hawaii’s island of Maui at The Grand Wailea Resort with a solo performance on Saturday, September 24th (stage & time tba).

It is rare that I perform solo without a band, so I look forward to the opportunity to break out of the norm and strip it down to Acoustic and Dobro, allowing me the freedom to try out some new songs in the raw.

Come experience French Quarter Fest – New Orleans’ True Heritage Festival. Brian will take the stage at the New Orleans 2011 French Quarter Fest, Sunday, April 10 on the Abita Stage (main) at Wolderberg Park, 3:45 PM. Joining him will be long-time cohorts Tommy Chadwick on guitar & vocals, Harrel “Boomer” Bosarge on drums and Kilmo Doome on bass & vocals.

Brian Stoltz Rejoins The ‘funky’ Meters

After a three-plus-year absence from the funky Meters, Brian Stoltz rejoined his band mates for the 33rd Anniversary of New Orleans music club, Tipitina’s. The jam-packed, sold-out show was a celebration for Stoltz and Art Neville as well, who first performed together 30 years before at the famed club in September 1981 when Stoltz became guitarist for The Neville Brothers Band.

Guided by the hand of Special Forces Commander, Art Neville, The ‘funky’ Meters led the bouncing, wall-to-wall, floor-to-balcony crowd through a wide range of grooves, moods and funky, but intense improvisations, executed as seamlessly in the moment as the day this configuration last played in 2007.

Stoltz down-played the excitement by saying, “Eh…it’s like riding a bike..it’s all we know how to do! We don’t know how to play any other way but Full ON and in the moment! If it’s not One-Mind at work it falls apart – although even then it’s still a pretty good. In the heat of battle there is no territory that George Porter Jr. and I can’t explore. The particular chemistry of this band is extremely unique and highly-intuitive. Taking the stage with the funky Meters brings about a heightened state of awareness that automatically puts the music in a hyper-creative space. The four of us having an expanded range in age brings about the best of our generations and genres as well as. Everyone being a Master of those genres has something very unique to bring to the mix along with the security and confidence that come with not taking yourself too seriously. The funky Meters will fearlessly try anything that comes to us in front of any crowd regardless of size.”

Stoltz is scheduled to perform with the funky Meters on all future dates including a three night run at Brooklyn Bowl, February 15, 16 & 17, an appearance at Austin City Limits Live March 4th and a Spring Tour of New Zealand and Australia.

Brian Makes Solo Debut @ Bear Creek Music Festival

Brian will perform Sunday, November 14th at the Bear Creek Music Festival in Live Oak, Florida. After performing at Bear Creek on numerous occasions with the now defunked (sic) Porter Batiste Stoltz, Brian returns to the festival to make his solo debut.

The yearly Live Oak, Fl event takes place at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park Joining Brian onstage will be Carl “Kilmo” Pacillo (Jaco Pastorius Trio, Ernest Ranglin) on bass & vocals, Tommy Chadwick (JJ Muggler Band, Freddy Fender) on guitar & vocals and Harrell “Boomer” Bosarge (Vince Gill, Delbert McClinton) on drums.

Brian Stoltz & the I-12 AllStars @ French Quarter Fest April 10

Brian will play New Orleans’ French Quarter Festival http://www.fqfi.org/frenchquarterfest/ for the first time in 5 years. The last time playing the fest was after the release of his God, Guns & Money CD in 2005. Joining Brian will be the I-12 AllStars, Jimmy Messa on bass & vocals and Harrell “Boomer” Bosarge on drums. Guitar & vocalist, Tommy Chadwick will unfortunately not be appearing with the I-12 AllStars due to a previous engagement.

Brian Returns To The Keys And West Palm Beach

Brian will return to Key West, Florida for his first appearance in over a year, bringing along his South Florida rhythm section of Carl “Kilmo” Pacillo on bass and Jeff Renza on drums. The band will appear Friday March 19 & Saturday March 20 for four shows over two nights at the Green Parrot Bar http://greenparrot.com Shows are at 5:30 and 10PM. As always there is no cover at the Green Parrot.

And for his first appearance in West Palm Beach, Brian will bring the band along with keyboard master, Bob Taylor, to i rock bar, Sunday, March 21st. Doors are at 6PM, show is at 7PM. Tickets are $10 adv / $15 door and available at http://irockbar.com . Don’t forget it’s an early show.
